Time indicators help in describing the specific moment in time (or intervals) when an event occurred or will occur. Some examples of these in English are "every," "until," "on," "last," and others. See the Filipino translations of the time indicators below.
No direct translation (time indicator describing future time)
Sa
No direct translation (time indicator describing past time)
Noong
No direct translation (time indicator that does not specify a particular moment)
Nang
Every
Tuwing
Each
Kada
Until
Hanggang
Since/From
Mula
These are used as indicators and as "introducing words," providing more detail about the time that the speaker wants to express.
Notice that the time indicators sa, noóng, and nang do not have direct translations in English. The reason for this is that different kinds of time expressions are used in English in denoting specific times. In the next few lessons, each time indicator will be discussed in detail.
