Itó is a Filipino demonstrative pronoun that is used to direct attention to specific people, things or places that are very near or close to the speaker (to the point that is reachable). It is the Filipino translation of the word "this".In the subject-predicate sentence order, itó can be used at the beginning of a sentence followed by the linking verb ay. This is a more formal sentence form, where the subject "itó" is at the beginning of the sentence, and is more suitable for ceremonial speeches, technical writing, and official documents.

On the other hand, if a demonstrative pronoun is used later in the sentence in the inverted sentence form, the linking verb ay is dropped. This inverted sentence form is more appropriate for casual conversations.
