Hello! My name is Jenessa. I was born and raised in San Diego, California. My parents are immigrants from the Philippines, so that makes me a second generation Filipino-American. I am studying the Filipino language because all my life I was only able to understand it because my mom spoke to me in Tagalog. I speak basic Tagalog but I want to be able to speak it fluently. I guess you can say that I am a passive bilingualist, but I want to change that and become bilingual. I started to learn Tagalog seriously because I like SB19, the rising P-Pop boy group. Watching their vlogs motivated me to learn seriously since I did not need subtitles on their videos most of the time. I also love listening to OPM and watching Pinoy dramas on TFC!
