I am studying the Filipino language because my girlfriend is Filipina and oftentimes her family visits her mother's home, and they speak in Tagalog or Taglish the whole time while I am lost. When they fully speak English it's because I am there. I don't want to be responsible for several people having to change because of me. It's appropriate and only right that I change for them and learn Tagalog. I have tried to learn by reading books but they have not been helpful because I have been pronouncing the words incorrectly. The best experience that I've had before now is when I had a tutor for a couple of months because I was able to ask any questions LIVE. I discovered this website by accident when trying to find a Tagalog English dictionary app on my iPad, and did not realize that I would be finding an entire community. This is great! I hope that you welcome me with open arms and I look forward to learning with all of you.
