03:14.0
How are you doing?
03:15.0
How do you like the Philippines?
03:16.0
I love the Philippines
03:17.0
It's really nice here
03:18.0
When was the first time you came this in the Philippines?
03:19.0
Goyo and I were just talking, it was about I think 2013, yeah, came for a bike race in Tacloban area I think, yeah.
03:27.5
What kind of race was that?
03:28.7
It was the race that you guys would put on every year, it was kind of a cross-country race, kind of.
03:35.5
How was the cross-country experience here?
03:37.5
Yeah, it was hot, through sugarcane fields and everything, super hot, but it was fun, had a lot of fun.
03:44.1
Did you like the climbs?
03:45.1
The climbs weren't too bad, but just the temperature during the race, yeah, was a lot, even for, I live in the desert, so, but the humidity was a lot higher.
03:56.8
How did you get into bikes? What's your story?
04:00.0
I started racing BMX when I was 12 or 13 years old, and then continued racing BMX, turned, raced professional for a little bit,
04:08.7
and then discovered mountain biking in 1987, and really loved it.
04:15.1
I liked mountain biking from the start more than BMX, and so I just slowly stopped racing BMX and started racing mountain bikes,
04:22.9
and started breaking mountain bikes, and so I started building mountain bikes, and here we are today.
04:27.5
Can you tell us the point in your life that you decided to create Feebot?
04:35.2
Well, I had a company called Titus for almost 17 years, and I wound up selling it, and just wanted, wasn't quite done,
04:44.9
wanted to sell it.
04:45.1
I wanted to do something new, and so that was in 2006 that I sold Titus, and we started Pivot in 2007, and yeah, it was, yeah, really shortly after I left Titus that I wanted to do something completely different than what we had done at Titus.
05:01.1
What can you say, the thing that makes Feebot stand out compared to the others?
05:06.9
Well, a few things. I mean, our attention to detail and the quality of the frames, but really the pedaling performance.
05:13.2
So, you can have a bike like the Firebird.
05:15.1
That's a really long travel bike, but still pedals really well, so a lot of people can ride a bike with more travel than,
05:23.1
so it's always there for them when they're in technical terrain, but it's also comfortable and fast to pedal everywhere.
05:28.7
And so that's even the case with the Mach 4, where you have a bike that pedals like a World Cup cross-country bike,
05:35.3
but most World Cup cross-country bikes don't descend well.
05:37.9
The Mach 4 SL is an excellent descender, so really across the range, having the most versatile bikes,
05:44.2
whether it be the e-bike.
05:45.1
Or whatever, they pedal great, they're lightweight for their category, and they just give you a really versatile all-around package.
05:53.3
What's the status with Feebot right now, with the situation here in the bike industry right now?
05:59.3
We're pretty good. We just launched the new Switchblade in the beginning of February, and everyone's super excited about that bike.
06:05.5
And, you know, the Shuttle AM last fall, and just a new update to the Shuttle LT, and everything's going really good.
06:13.4
We are building a new facility.
06:15.2
We're in Germany right now, and we have our offices in Taiwan, and then over 100 people at our facility in the U.S.
06:22.7
I was in Taiwan last weekend for the show.
06:25.1
Did you like the show?
06:25.9
Yeah, yeah. It's so overwhelming. There's so much to see.
06:30.1
Yeah, it got bigger with the new show hall, too.
06:33.1
Is there something that we should look out for?
06:37.5
You should get excited about everything.
06:41.2
We're always working on new stuff.
06:45.1
At some point, every bike in our line will continue to get improved, better, new releases, more e-bikes.
06:53.4
Yeah, there's just a lot of exciting things on the future.
06:57.8
Can you give a short message to the mountain bike community in the Philippines?
07:02.0
Well, you guys have a rad community.
07:04.5
Visiting everybody here at the shop has been fantastic, and watching all the racing and everything happening in the Philippines.
07:12.8
You guys are really awesome.
07:15.1
It's a mountain bike market, and it's exciting to see that level of racing and what you guys have done here.
07:21.4
So, keep on riding, man. It's killer.
