MANILA – The habagat or southwest monsoon will continue affecting some parts of Luzon on Sunday, the state weather bureau said. Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Batanes, and Babuyan Islands will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains due to the habagat, said PAGASA weather forecaster Glaiza Escullar. Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience sunny weather that could be interrupted by scattered rains in the afternoon or evening, Escullar told TeleRadyo Serbisyo. On Monday, some western sections of Luzon may experience cloudy weather, but this will not be enough to prompt the cancellation of classes, she added. Last week, monsoon rains enhanced by tropical storm Enteng triggered landslides and floods that left at least 20 people dead, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said.
