Members of labor group Kilusang Mayo Uno hold a protest in front of the Commission on Human Rights headquarters in Quezon City on November 21, 2024, to seek justice for trade unionist Jude Thaddeus Fernandez who was killed by Philippine National Police personnel a year ago. Police said they shot Fernandez dead on September 29, 2023 after he allegedly violently resisted the service of a search warrant on a house in Binganonan, Rizal that he was staying in. The labor group filed charges of murder, and violations of Section 4(b) of RA 9851, Section 4(a)(1)(14) in relation to Section 4(a)(1) of the Anti-Torture Act, and Section 4-A of RA 9516 against police officers and police officials involved in the killing. They also filed a complaint at the CHR over Fernandez's death.
