In celebration of Guinness World Records Day on Thursday (November 21) the tallest woman and shortest woman had afternoon tea together in London on Tuesday (November 19) and were honored by the record-breaking experts as icons.
At 2 metres and 15.16cm (7ft 0.7) tall, Rumeysa Gelgi, a researcher from Turkey, towered over Jyoti Amge, an actor from India, who stands at just 62.8cm (24.7in).
The height difference proved no barrier with the pair enjoying each other's company at the meet-up at the Savoy Hotel.
"It was so lovely to meet the tallest woman in the world for the first time, she is so good-natured, I felt really comfortable talking with her," Amge said.
Sentiments echoed by Gelgi who said they had a lot in common, such as "self-care, make up (and) doing our nails."
Started in 2004, Guinness World Records Day encourages people around the world to try and set new records.
